FROM THE KITCHEN
At Little Gumnuts Dalmeny, we prioritise the health and well-being of every child by providing three nutritious, balanced meals each day. Our menu is carefully designed to offer a variety of fresh, wholesome ingredients that support the growth and development of young children. We are fully committed to accommodating children with allergies and intolerances, working closely with parents to ensure that any dietary restrictions are fully understood and respected. Our experienced staff is trained to handle food sensitivities with the utmost care, ensuring that meals are prepared safely and that all children enjoy delicious, safe, and nourishing options tailored to their individual needs.

Mez, our dedicated Nutrition Manager, holds a High Distinction in the Advanced Certificate of Nutrition & Health, specialising in Infant, Childhood and Adolescent Nutrition. She is passionate about creating meals that children not only love but are also packed with essential nutrients. Each day, she prepares three wholesome meals and a nutritious late afternoon snack.

We love collaborating with families! Centre recipes are shared, and we warmly welcome menu suggestions from parents to ensure everyone feels part of our nutrition journey.

OZ HARVEST
We are proud to partner with OzHarvest to reduce food waste and promote sustainability in our kitchen. By using surplus food from OzHarvest, we are able to incorporate a wide variety of fresh, nutritious ingredients into our daily meals, ensuring that our menus are both healthy and diverse.
This collaboration allows us to minimize food waste by repurposing perfectly good food that would otherwise go to landfill, while providing the children with wholesome, nutritious options. Through this initiative, we not only support our commitment to healthy eating but also contribute to a more sustainable future.

JOEYS
0-2 YEARS | 8 CHILDREN
The Joey room educators create an environment for children to develop safe and secure relationships with educators and children. Routines and activities are designed to reflect individual needs in a caring environment. This holistic approach in learning environment allows educators and families to work together in planning and reflecting on each child, and seeing their development as an ongoing journey that ebbs and flows naturally, supported by intentional teaching practice that is documented, scaffolded, and nurtured to cultivate the best potential outcomes.

WALLABIES
2-3 YEARS | 10 CHILDREN
Wallaby educators work closely with parents to support each child’s rapidly emerging social and emotional developmental, self help and skills for independence. The program supports and reflects the children’s needs and interests incorporating foundations skills and is enriched by working closely with each child’s parents. A day in the wallabies is exciting, dynamic, nurturing and with a strong sense of belonging for each child.
KANGAROOS
3-5 YEARS | 20 CHILDREN
The educators in the Kangaroos group support children in their emerging interests and abilities to become confident and involved learners. As children’s interest become broader our environment becomes a precious resource, engaging and incorporating it into all aspects of our program, modelling respect, care, and appreciation for our natural and constructed environment and finding ways of enabling children to learn from the land. The children’s wider view of their world is further supported with transition to school activities at school and at the service.
